Step into centuries of history in the heart of downtown St. Augustine. UF Historic St. Augustine offers a collection of preserved and reconstructed sites where visitors can explore exhibits, museums, and immersive experiences that bring the city’s past to life.
UF Historic St. Augustine manages 23 properties with 38 buildings supporting educational programs in historic downtown St. Augustine. These buildings include colonial era structures, reconstructions on original foundations, and conjectural historic buildings. The Governor’s House, at 48 King Street, is home to free exhibit galleries and history. Several buildings are managed jointly as the Colonial Quarter Experience, a two-acre site on St. George Street providing educational tours, shopping, dining, and entertainment. The Spanish Military Hospital, at 3 Aviles Street, is also operated as a museum. UFHSA partners with the St. Augustine Historical Society in a shared mission of historic building preservation that includes the Oldest House Museum Complex.

Visit the Governor's House Cultural Center and Museum
The Governor’s House Cultural Center and Museum is located in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine at the intersection of King Street and St. George Street overlooking the historic Plaza de la Constitución. The building, historically known as Government House, has a long and fascinating history since the site has been home to several government offices since 1598. An exhibit in the grand lobby follows this history including a timeline to present-day.

St. Augustine played an important role in the American Revolution — but not on the side of American independence! The city and its residents remained loyal to Great Britain, with many consequences.
Come and find out about their story at the Governor’s House Cultural Center and Museum open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily.
This exhibit was curated by members of the UF Historic St. Augustine (UFHSA) Education Committee.
Governor’s House Museum proudly presents Wild Waters: Rivers, Lakes, Wetlands, Coast and the Florida Wildlife Corridor selections from the Samuel H. and Roberta T. Vickers Collection. The exhibit is available for viewing free of charge daily from 10 am to 5 pm. This exhibit is lent courtesy of the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art, University of Florida, The Florida Art Collection, Gift of Samuel H. and Roberta T. Vickers.

Experience Ribera Park
Step out of the hustle and bustle into this quiet pocket park located at 22 St. George Street directly across from Fort Alley. It features native Florida landscapes and an exhibit about the early families that lived in downtown St. Augustine.
